France said Friday it was planning resumption of flights to Libyan capital, Tripoli, in near future.Secretary of State for Transport Thierry Mariani was quoted by French media as saying he would pay an official visit to Tripoli on Sunday to discuss resumption of flights which have been suspended for long years.
Mariani will be leading a delegation of French airline companies including Air France to guarantee success of his mission.Air France, which stopped flights to Tripoli after an attack against French UTi airplane over the Niger in 1989 killing all 170 people on board, was planning resumption of flights to Libya last March but backed down because of security uncertainties.
