Turkish Airlines has announced that it has started direct flights to the Libyan city of Misrata, its third destination in Libya.THY announced that the first flight to Misrata took off from İstanbul last Thursday. There will be regular direct flights to Misrata every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

THY said cargo flights to Misrata are also scheduled to start soon, but did not specify a date. The airline currently has regular flights to Tripoli and Benghazi in Libya.THY has dramatically increased the number of its flights to cities in northern and sub-Saharan African nations over the past few years.
