Double daily flights from London launched by Pegasus Airlines

The new double daily service will run between London Stansted and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen and onto connections across Turkey, North Cyprus and beyond, including Beirut, on the 2012 summer schedule between 25 March and 27 October 2012, with two additional direct routes from London to Izmir.  This is up from the current winter schedule of 10 flights weekly to Istanbul and beyond plus two direct flights to Izmir.Pegasus has bucked the global economic downturn with stellar growth for 2011-12, increasing flight frequency in line with rising passenger demands for its services; indeed, 500,000 guests have flown with Pegasus to and from the UK since the launch of scheduled flights in the UK in April 2007 and the airline is now Stansted Airport’s top 5th scheduled airline in terms of the number of passengers flown during 2011, with the January-July 2011 period seeing a 58.2% increase.

Commenting on the growth, Sertac Haybat, CEO, said We are delighted to announce the launch of double daily flights for the summer schedule . London is a very important route for us, and one to which we are strongly committed to, investing in the route since the launch of our flights to the UK in 2007, and will continue to do so far into the future.  Indeed the British are the third nation in terms of visitor numbers to Turkey and so we expect to see continued growth in demand and subsequent capacity for many years to come.
