Emirates to launch flights to Dallas

Emirates Airline will add daily flights into the US to Dallas/Ft. Worth and Seattle. The new service, to begin from Feb. 2 and March 1, 2012, respectively, will be with Boeing 777-300ERs.EK President Tim Clark said passengers flying from Seattle and DFW will be able to connect seamlessly to points across the Far and Middle East, Indian sub-continent and Africa via the airline’s hub in Dubai. He also said the Seattle route will help to further strengthen the airline’s links with Boeing.

Already the largest 777 operator, EK last year ordered an additional 30 777-300ERs, bringing its total 777 passenger fleet commitments to 132 aircraft (ATW Daily News, July 20, 2010).Port of Seattle commission president Bill Bryant said the new service connects Seattle to a new region, creating jobs and tourism opportunities for our state.Emirates added services to Basra, Geneva and Copenhagen this year and plans to add service to St. Petersburg from Nov. 1. Next year the airline will add service to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires Jan. 3 and Feb. 1, respectively.EK has a fleet of 157 aircraft and flies to 114 destinations in 67 countries.
