Hajj flights start Sep 29

Hajj flights will begin from Sep 29. A total of 107,425 people will be making the pilgrimage from Bangladesh this year.Briefing journalists on Monday, religious affairs secretary Kazi Habibul Awal also added that 13 organisations, previously black-listed by the Saudi government, will be able to send pilgrims.We have discussed the matter with the Saudi government and the matter is being resolved. We have already received positive response about nine organisations and are optimistic that the remaining four others will be able to send pilgrims as well,the secretary added.

The president will inaugurate this year’s Hajj programme on Sep 28.350 agencies will organise the trips for the pilgrims along with those travelling through government arrangements, the secretary continued.He added that 14 airlines will be flying the pilgrims including the national carrier Biman and said, “We have received the flight schedules of most carriers including Biman and Saudi Airlines. We will have all schedules within the next day or two.Hajj flights of Biman will end on Oct 30 while flights of Saudi Airlines will end on Nov 3.
