Frontier Airlines this morning said it will start nonstop service on Nov. 1 from Kansas City International Airport to Houston and Las Vegas.The Denver-based carrier will also add a fifth gate in Terminal C at the airport.With the two new cities, Frontier said it will serve 18 destinations with nonstop service from KCI.
Daniel Shurz, Froniter’s vice president of strategy and planning, said in a statement that recent federal Department of Transportation data indicated that the carrier offered the lowest fares on 14 of the 15 nonstop markets it served in the first quarter of 2011.Frontier and its parent company, Republic Airways, have 355 employees based in Kansas City, including customer service, flight maintenance technicians, and flight crews.
