A new name is taking over flights between Montana cities. Gulfstream International Airlines flights in Eastern Montana started Sunday.The first Gulfstream International flight in Montana departed from Havre at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. Multiple personnel from Gulfstream corporate were on the flight to make sure it went well.
It was as good as we could have hoped for. Honestly it’s been a great day so far,said Mickey Bowman, vice president of corporate development.Dr. Robert English was the only paying passenger on the plane. He makes weekly flights to Billings and said he was thrilled about the new service.Incredible convenience. Otherwise I would have to drive to Great Falls or somewhere else to catch a flight, so I’m extremely pleased with this flight,English said.
Once Gulfstream starts full service, customers will be able to fly between seven Montana cities in 19-passenger planes.Gulfstream representatives are hopeful that Montanans will adopt the newly transplanted airline.We’re just tremendously excited to be here. We think that Gulfstream has a long history of reliable, on-time service, and we think that, coupled with the fact of reasonable fares, are going to bring passengers back to using their local air service again,Bowman said.Gulfstream plans to add Glasgow and Wolf Point to the schedule starting Sunday, May 8, 2011, followed by Glendive, Miles City, and Sidney on Sunday, May 15, 2011.Gulfstream replaces Great Lakes Airlines in the region.
