Four Air India flights were cancelled on Wednesday owing to the strike called by the Indian Commercial Pilots’ Association. The pilots are demanding higher emoluments and parity in the pay and allowances.Of the 19 flights scheduled for Wednesday from Hyderabad, four flights two to Bangalore, one to Pune and Delhi each were cancelled on the first day of the strike. While two flights to Bangalore and Pune were scheduled in the morning, flights to Bangalore and Delhi were scheduled in the evening.
Passengers whose flights were cancelled were fully refunded by the carrier or accomodated in other flights, official spokesperson of the airline said. The spokesperson added that at least from Hyderabad, the carrier has been able to operate most of the scheduled flights.It the strike continues, there might be a problem,the spokesperson added.
