QantasLink announced today it will add a further 8 flights per week between Gladstone and Brisbane. The move is part of the airline’s overall strategy to add capacity in central Queensland.QantasLink Executive manager, Mr Narendra Kumar said the additions would help meet demand in regional communities and industry. He also said it would provide a boost for resource and tourism centres recovering from the floods.
The QantasLink announcement said Mackay and Rockhampton will also receive added capacity.The new flights for Gladstone will be added in May and will take the total number of seats on offer to 7206 per week.Regional Queensland has always been central to our operations and following recent capacity increases, we are ready to extend this across even more of our network,Mr Kumar said.
