British Airways increases London City Airport flights to Scotland

BA CityFlyer, a subsidiary of BA, plans to extend an extra daily service to both Edinburgh and Glasgow to cope with increasing demand. The new services will come into force on May 2 and will boost capacity by more than 23 per cent. The airport’s location, at the heart of London’s financial district, obviously makes it ideal for commuting between the Docklands and Scotland’s two major cities, both of which have a strong financial services sector, said BA CityFlyer’s Luke Hayhoe.

However, leisure passengers are becoming increasingly aware of just how convenient London City Airport is for the centre of London. The airline will operate a fifth return service to Glasgow and an eighth return route to Edinburgh.Flight times have been adapted so that business travellers have three services from Edinburgh before 8am and a late evening flight at 8.50pm so customers can extend their stay in London
