Air France Maintaining Flights To Tokyo

Franco-Dutch airline Air France-KLM  Tuesday said it aims to maintain its usual flight program between France and Japan and Paris-Toyko flights are operating normally at the moment; it is monitoring the situation closely.A crisis team is examining the situation around the clock. Right now, flights to Tokyo are unchanged,a spokesman told Dow Jones Newswires.

German flagship carrier Deutsche Lufthansa AG (LHA.XE) earlier Tuesday said it won’t direct any flights to Tokyo until Sunday, as fears grow over radiation from a nuclear plant hit by Japan’s earthquake last week. Daily flights from Frankfurt to Tokyo will be diverted to Nagoya, while flights departing from Munich will be diverted to Osaka.A French official at the Ministry of Transport told Dow Jones Newswires there is a crisis meeting ongoing with Air France regarding flights to Japan.
