Kingfisher Airlines, the flagship airlines company of UB Group, will launch eleven new flights on its domestic network from March 1, 2011 as part of its effort to improve connectivity.Flights to be added are New Delhi-Ranchi-Patna-New Delhi along with additional frequencies in some existing routes. The company has announced it will add additional frequencies in New Delhi-Amritsar route and New Delhi-Srinagar route.
Barring these new flights, the airlines has also introduced changes by increasing frequencies in some route along with rescheduling in others.The launch of these eleven flights will further strengthen our domestic route network and booking for these flights are open from Feb 23, Manoj Chacko, executive vice-president-commercial of Kingfisher Airlines said.Coupled with sound consumer offer, the company expect to ramp up its market share even more, he added.
Recently, Kingfisher Airlines is facing tough competition from low cost airlines like IndiGo and Spice Get.Industry experts said that the move to introduce new flights would help the company to increase its market share which had been hit due to halting of seven aircrafts in the recent past.Kingfisher Airlines has narrowed its losses by 39 per cent to Rs 253.89 crore in the third quarter ending December on the back of increased domestic load factor and several cost reduction measures.Total income of the company increased by 28 per cent in the third quarter to Rs 1658 crore.
