Hundreds of flights at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport were canceled Sunday as a major winter storm blew into the area.Airport spokeswoman Melissa Scovronski said Delta canceled about 700 flights from the airport and other airlines thinned out their schedules.She said all four runways at the airport were working Sunday morning, but airport officials expected they would be down to one runway by the end of the day.

Meteorologists said the highest amount of snowfall Sunday morning was in western South Dakota, where up to 13 inches was reported.The weather service said wind gusts of more than 30 mph were reported throughout the Dakotas. Meteorologists said the storm should ease by early this morning.
