As many as two flights from New Delhi to Lucknow were cancelled following low visibility conditions at Amausi airport on Thursday morning.A Go-Air flight, G8-341 and a jet Airways flight, 9W2637 were cancelled as fog engulfed the Amausi airport. Likewise, two Kingfisher flights one from New Delhi and the other from Mumbai too arrived almost two hours late.
According to reports, the Go Air flight was scheduled to arrive at 6.30 am at the Amausi airport. However, the flight never arrived even as passengers waited. They wanted to know the exact status of the flight. However, they lost their patience and entered into heated arguments with an airline official.Airport officials maintained that it was supposed to be the duty of the respective airlines to inform the passengers about the delayed arrival of the flight.
The situation eased out only after 9 am when fog dispersed and air services resumed. In fact, the Indian Airlines flight, IC 411 from New Delhi came at its scheduled time of 9 am.Reports said that the Amausi airport got enveloped in a heavy fog in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday itself.
