Delhi is once again in the grip of dense fog. As the weekend began, Delhiites woke up to thick fog which has affected train services and even some flights.
As many as 60 trains have been delayed and six have been cancelled. The fog has also hit air traffic with six flights delayed at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport on Saturday.
Whole of north India, including Delhi, has been facing bone-chilling cold conditions with the mercury sliding to sub normal range.The minimum temperature dropped to 4.3 degree Celsius on Friday while the day temperature rose to 15.6 degree Celsius, giving a little respite.Friday’s temperature was three degree Celsius below normal for this time of year. The early hours of the day also saw a layer of shallow fog around the city.The cold wave has persisted throughout this week and the maximum temperatures too have slid below 15 degrees Celsius on several days.
