Kenya Airways Ltd., sub-Saharan Africa’s third-biggest carrier, today said it wants to increase flights to India after the Asian nation’s government approved a request for more frequencies.We welcome the new development,Chris Karanja, the company’s spokesman, said today in a telephone interview from Nairobi, Kenya’s capital.We will definitely look at expansion by next year.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh granted the request by his Kenyan counterpart, Raila Odinga, during a meeting in New Delhi on Nov. 16, Odinga said in an e-mailed statement yesterday.The Kenyan airline currently flies once a day to Mumbai, the mostly populous city in India. It also has frequencies to New Delhi but does not flight to the Indian capital, Karanja said.
