The Emirates airline has cancelled two flights to Jakarta, Indonesia. The Dubai-Jakarta-Dubai flights, EK356/EK357 on Nov.6-7 and EK358/EK359 on Nov.6, were cancelled due to a cloud of volcanic ash from the Merapi volcano in Indonesia.In a statement posted on its website, the airline has said that the decision was taken as safety of our passengers and crew is always of paramount importance.The statement said that the airline is monitoring the situation closely and will provide further updates when available.All affected passengers from these flights were offered hotel accommodation in Dubai.Emirates has also advised all passengers due to travel to Indonesia in the next day to check flight status prior to departure.
