Starting November first direct flights from Denmark to Israel will resume for the first time since the outbreak of the Second Intefada in 2000. Danish airline Cimber Air will operate three direct scheduled and charter flights a week from Copenhagen to Tel Aviv, cutting the travel time between the two cities from 9 to 4.5 hours.According to the Tourism ministry, between January and September 2010, 47,400 tourists arrived in Israel from Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, a 16 percent increase from 2009.The new route joins another charter route that has recently been reestablished from Norway, as well as other charter flights from Scandinavian countries which are expected to be reinstated in the upcoming months.
