Malaysia Airlines expects to boost its capacity to Indian cities by about 40% next year by increasing flight frequencies.South Asia regional manager Azahar Hamid said that starting in the first quarter of 2011, MAS would increase flight frequencies to cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
The demand for additional flights is from the leisure and business sector in India. This sector has not been affected by the economic crisis that started in late 2008. We will be bringing in B737-800 narrow-body aircrafts to support the increase in flight frequencies, he said.
