Just in time to escape the January’s bitter Midwestern winter weather, Frontier Airlines has announced the addition of non-stop round-trip flights between Omaha and San Diego.The flights begin Jan. 16, 2011.Flights will be three times a week aboard Embraer 190 (E190) aircraft.The E190 will feature in-flight Wi-Fi service, all-leather seating in a two-by-two configuration, and four rows of seats with an extra five inches of legroom.Between Jan. 16 and Feb. 13, the flights will be on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, leaving Omaha for San Diego at 3:35 p.m. and leaving San Diego for Omaha at 5:20 p.m.Starting Feb. 14, the flights will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday each week.The 17-year-old Frontier Airlines offers routes to more than 70 destinations in the United States, Mexico and Costa Rica.The merger of Frontier and Midwest airlines, both owned by Republic Airways was announced in April of this year. The integration of these two under the Frontier name is expected to take as long as 18 months.
