Saudi Arabia Airlines must intervene to ensure the return of more than 4,000 Saudis who are stranded in Egypt because of a lack of airline seats, a spokesman from the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry has said.Saudia has to intervene urgently to resolve this problem by increasing flights between Saudi Arabia and Egypt,Nasser Al-Tayar, chairman of the committee of travel and tourist agencies at the chamber of commerce, told local Arabic daily Al-Madinah, reported by Arab News.
The holidaymakers are stranded because they cannot find seats on Saudia or EgyptAir, the paper reports.According to Al-Tayer, the Egyptian national carrier has increased the number of its flights to the kingdom, and he appealed for Saudia to do the same.They will not be able to go back to work on time, whether they are in the public or private sector,he warned.
