Number of Chinese tourists predicted to biking on flights to Britain

This is according to a new report from VisitBritain, which predicted that Chinese visitors to Britain will rise by 89 percent between now and 2014.
While the majority of visitors will come from Europe and North America, the report stated, there will be notable increases in tourist arrivals from Brazil, Russia and India.Sandie Dawe, VisitBritain’s chief executive, said that prospects for the UK tourism industry over the next few years are positive.Visitor numbers overall were down by six percent last year, due largely to a sharp drop in international business travel, she commented. But thanks to a good deal of hard work, we were still able to grow the inbound holiday tourism market by five percent, outperforming many European competitors.Visit Britain said earlier this month that 494,000 people travelled to Britain on flights from the Gulf region in 2009 – a nine percent increase on the year before.
