The airline will start a double daily weekday service from the Docklands to the Danish capital, providing a direct link between the cities.There will also be a flight to London from Copenhagen on Saturdays, while one journey will take place in the opposite direction on Sundays.Due to commence on September 12th, the new flights will be operated by BA subsidiary BA CityFlyer on its fleet of Embraer 190 aeroplanes.
Luke Hayhoe, commercial manager of BA CityFlyer, said: This has been a year of firsts for us at London City Airport, with new leisure focused flights to the Balearic Islands launched earlier in the year and now our first ever venture into Scandinavia.He added that the flights were established in response to demand from business and leisure customers.Earlier this month, BA and its partners American Airlines and Iberia had plans to operate a joint business on transatlantic flights approved by regulators.
