Delta Air Lines to Add First Class Seats to domestic flights

Apparently the biggest airline in the world, Delta Air Lines, said that it would add first class seating to domestic flights that are longer than 750 miles, or about 2.5 hours long. Once the upgrades are finally completed, 50 routes that feature Delta Connection flights with just one service class will have both first and economy classes.Things like meals and linen services are going to be offered on all regional flights that feature a first class cabin. The airline said that airplanes that have first class seats added included the Bombardier and Embraer models.

This new move is all part of Delta Air Lines’ plan to spend at least $1 billion in the next few years on upgrades. This does include things like upgrading equipment on some planes to flat bed seats. These flat bed seats will offer passengers more legroom and more amenities, such as more overhead bin space. So why is the Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines looking to add all of these things? Well it would appear that the airline is doing what it can to attract more business travelers. The airline would like to bolster its presence in high growth cities like New York.

To prove this, back in May, the airline said that it would add more flights between New York and business centers such as London, Milan, and Moscow. Then, just last Thursday, Delta Air Lines said that Vietnam Airlines is joining its SkyTeam global airline alliance. This is a team that already includes such airlines as Air France and China Southern Airlines. All of these latest updates show Delta Air Lines’ commitment to expanding.
