Planning villa holidays in Mallorca has been made easier after British Airways (BA) announced that it would extend its summer flight schedule from London City Airport to Mallorca for an extra five weeks. The carrier had originally intended for the programme of five flights a week to end in September, but has decided to extend the service until the end of October due to the popularity of the route.
BA CityFlyer, a subsidiary of BA which operates the service, said it’s an ideal opportunity to enjoy some late autumn sunshine in the Balearics.Luke Hayhoe, commercial manager for BA CityFlyer, said: These leisure routes have really taken off from London City, they proved so popular that we have already increased frequency to Mallorca to five flights a week and to Ibiza to four flights a week in July and August. Now we have the opportunity to extend the season.
Another airline, Jet2.com, recently launched its first service from East Midlands Airport to Palma in Mallorca.
