Air France, part of Franco-Dutch airline Air France KLM (AF.FR, Thursday said it is adding extra flights to facilitate the return to Paris of passengers that have been stranded by the closure of European airspace in the last week.The airline is scheduling extra flights to Paris departing from the Antilles, Reunion Island, Bangkok, Beijing and Delhi on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Air France said it plans to schedule further flights in the following days.Europe began closing its airspace Thursday last week because of fears that the ash from a volcano eruption in Iceland could stall plane engines, grounding thousands of aircraft and stranding passengers around the world.
