Flights between Munich and Riyadh

Lufthansa is preparing to launch new flights between Munich and Riyadh. From 26 April 2010, the Saudi Arabian capital will be served thrice weekly in addition to the daily flight already operated by Lufthansa from Frankfurt. The route will be flown by a Boeing 737, which is currently operated on behalf of Lufthansa by the Swiss business jet operator PrivatAir. This aircraft is fitted with 24 seats in Business Class and 84 seats in Economy Class.

On board the PrivatAir aircraft, passengers can enjoy all the benefits of Lufthansa’s longhaul product. In Business Class, these include an inflight entertainment system with the latest films and topical programmes, Star Chef menus that change every two months as well as excellent amenities enabling passengers to continue working while on board. When extended, the lie-flat seats provide an almost horizontal surface two metres in length. Economy Class passengers can also look forward to a high level of comfort. Due to the lower number of seats, passengers are guaranteed a very personalised service. All the seats are also fitted with an individual in-seat video screen und feature ergonomically designed backrests and additional legroom.

“Thanks to the spacious cabin interior of the Boeing 737-800, passengers travel in an extremely calm and relaxed atmosphere. Our customers can therefore look forward to an exceptionally high level of comfort,” said Thomas Klühr, Group Representative and Head of Hub Management Munich.
Riyadh has a population of about 4.1 million and is the largest city in Saudi Arabia. The country possesses the world’s largest oil reserves and is consequently one of the biggest oil producers. It is also a leading member of OPEC. Other important exports are petrochemical products, fertilizers, cement, steel and textiles.

Return fares from Munich to Riyadh start at 793 euros. This price applies to Economy Class and includes all taxes, charges and the Lufthansa Ticket Service Charge if the booking is made online at lufthansa.com.The new service to Riyadh brings to nine the number of new destinations Lufthansa is offering this summer. In all, Lufthansa customers flying from Munich will have a choice of 117 destinations in 44 countries.
