Flights to Greece

Airline Ryanair is adding some high-season flights to Greece between Milan’s Bergamo Airport in Italy and Kos, Rhodes, and Volos in Greece. Kos and Volos will also be served by the airline from Frankfurt, Germany and there will also be a PisaItaly Rhodes link. The new flights will begin in May and continue to at least October.

I like the inclusion of Volos, which gives visitors access to some interesting sightseeing on the mainland of Greece, including Meteora, before exploring some of the less-visited Greek islands. Volos located about halfway between Athens and Thessaloniki, making it easy to explore both cities if you choose. It’s been a stop on the Seabourn Cruises route for some time, earning the distinction of  favorite port from their head of itinerary development, Peter Cox.

But if you’re booking on Ryanair, you should be aware that the airline has often been in the news for some of its proposed or active policies, threatening to charge for using the bathrooms during a flight, charging $40 or so for providing boarding passes at the airport, and also sometimes assessing checked luggage fees of up to $100 a bag. so be sure to read any and all fine print when booking a ticket.
