EasyJet flights are cancelled

Coming just weeks after the low cost carrier cancelled hundreds of flights due to heavy snow, easyJet’s phone helpline was promptly swamped by concerned and angry customers. It is nothing short of a disaster coming hot on the heels of the nightmare experienced by the airline during the big freeze just weeks ago  a travel expert told The Daily Mail.Even though the affected flights are still operating, many easyJet passengers will still be annoyed as their travel dates have now changed and they may have booked time off work.

Speaking to the newspaper, one disgruntled traveller said: When you are planning a holiday you don’t expect wholesale changes to those plans. It seems pretty extreme for an airline to change the schedule of hundreds, maybe thousands, of flights just weeks before.EasyJet’s clarification email, send hours after the blunder, read: If you received an email earlier tonight that your flight was cancelled, please ignore the previous email. Your flight is NOT cancelled. We would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by a technical error. The no-frills airline said it is now offering customers a choice between a rescheduled travel date or a refund. It blamed timetable changes by air traffic controllers for the disruption.
